My professional learning
My Professional Learning is designed to help you maintain both your school-based and non-school-based (personal) Professional Learning (PL) event histories.
Create a Professional Learning (PL) event request: Propose new events for approval by your Professional Learning Manager.
Apply to attend a Professional Learning (PL) event: Request to participate in existing events and track your applications.
Whether you’re organising a school-based PL event or attending a personal development opportunity, this tool ensures you can manage all aspects of your professional learning in one place.
Your Professional Learning (PL) reports
You can create a PDF report of the Professional Learning (PL) events you’ve attended within a selected date range.
Different types of PL reports are available, depending on your school’s state and type.
All PL reports are created in a similar way, though the required fields may vary.
Available Professional Learning (PL) reports
VIT Professional Learning (PL) events report:
Includes historical events with VIT Standards assigned, even though VIT standards are no longer maintained.
CECV Professional Learning (PL) events report:
Designed for schools under the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV).
School-based Professional Learning (PL) events report - for details see School Events History section.
Non-school-based (personal) Professional Learning (PL) events report- for details see Personal Event History section.
Generate your VIT or CECV Professional Learning (PL) report
Click the Report button on the toolbar.
Enter details:
Select a Date Range by entering the start and end dates.
Click Search.
Select events:
A list of all the PL events you attended within the selected date range will appear.
Use the checkboxes to select the events you want to include in your report.
Note: Some reports require at least 20 hours of professional learning.
Enter overall reflection:
Provide an overall reflection on your professional learning experiences.
Validate your report:
Click the Validate Report button to ensure your data meets the minimum requirements.
A confirmation message will appear. Click OK to close the window.
Generate the report:
Click the Create PL Report button to generate a PDF of your selected events.
Upcoming events section
The Upcoming Events section displays a list of all future Professional Learning (PL) events that you can apply to attend, as well as events you have already requested or applied to attend.
Create a request for a school-based Professional Learning (PL) event
Click the Add Event Request button:
The Add Event Request button is available in the toolbar of both the Upcoming Events and School Event History sections.
Upcoming Events: Manage requested and upcoming PL events.
School-Based PL History: Maintain a record of school-based PL events you have attended.
Enter overview details:
The Request Professional Learning Event window will appear, with the Overview card active by default.
Fill in the required fields (marked as mandatory) to proceed.
Add additional details:
Use the menu or navigation buttons to access other sections (e.g., date, location, cost) and provide further details.
Submit your request:
Click the Submit Request button.
The PL event will appear in your list of upcoming events.
A status icon will indicate the current state of your PL event request (e.g., pending, approved, revision required).
Your Professional Learning Manager(s) will be notified of your request and will action the event accordingly.
After submitting a PL event request, you may need to update the details or make revisions as requested by the PL Manager. Use the Edit option in the Upcoming Events section to make changes.

Each Professional Learning (PL) event is listed in a grid with action columns for managing individual items. Each action column contains icons that allow you to perform specific tasks.

Icons change to indicate status.
Outline icon: Indicates no content has been added.
Filled icon: Indicates content has been added or the action is complete.

Click the Request to attend status icon button.
Confirm your application.
Professional Learning (PL) event revision process
The PL event revision process is a collaborative dialogue between the staff member making the PL event request and the PL manager. It is used to refine and clarify the details of the PL event.
Understanding Professional Learning (PL) event revision status
The Revision column in the Professional Learning (PL) events list indicates the status of revisions:
Revision required: The PL Manager has requested changes to your PL event request.
Revision submitted: You have submitted revisions for the PL Manager to review.
Click the Edit icon button to open PL event request form and make changes.
Revise or modify details of your Professional Learning (PL) event request
Whether you are modifying or adding to your PL event request, or completing a Revision Required, the process is the same. The only difference is how you save your changes.
Click the Edit icon button:
The Edit PL Event Request window will appear.
Navigate and edit details:
Use the tabs to navigate through the form sections.
Add or edit details as needed.
Save your changes:
Click Save to save your changes without notifying the PL Manager.
If you are completing a Revision Required, click Save & Submit Revision to save your changes and notify the PL Manager.
Download details of a Professional Learning (PL) event as PDF
Click Download icon button.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your "Downloads" folder).
Open the PDF in your default PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Preview, or a web browser).
Print if needed.

This is a file containing information about the Professional Learning (PL) event (If available).
Click Download.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your "Downloads" folder).
Open the PDF in your default PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Preview, or a web browser).
Print if needed.
Add details of cover required to attend a Professional Learning (PL) event
Specify the cover needed for you to attend a Professional Learning (PL) event.
Click the Add cover details icon button.
Enter Your Cover Details:
Use the checkboxes to select your cover requirements:
All Day: Full-day cover is needed.
Part Day: Partial-day cover is needed.
No Cover Required: No cover is needed.
If applicable, check the box to confirm you have Authority to Travel (NSW only).
Click Submit.
Add a personal file to your Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Add personal file icon button.
Click Browse to select a file.
Enter a description (optional)
Click Upload file.
Once uploaded, the icon button will change to Download personal file, and a new icon will appear to Remove personal file.
Download a personal file from your Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Download personal file icon button.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your Downloads folder).
Open the file to view its contents.
Print the file if needed.
Remove a personal file from your Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Remove personal file icon button.
Confirm the action to remove the file.
School events history section
Create a request for a school-based Professional Learning (PL) event
Click the Add Event Request button:

Click Download icon button.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your "Downloads" folder).
Open the PDF in your default PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Preview, or a web browser).
Print if needed.
Download a Professional Learning (PL) event file
This is a file containing information about the Professional Learning (PL) event (If available).
Click Download.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your "Downloads" folder).
Open the PDF in your default PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Preview, or a web browser).
Print if needed.
Post Professional Learning (PL) event feedback
After attending a Professional Learning (PL) event, you can provide feedback, reflections, and evaluations (if applicable).
Add feedback for your Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Add feedback icon button.
Enter your feedback comments.
Click Save.
Your feedback will be saved with your Professional Learning (PL) event record and can be viewed by all PL Managers.
Add reflection for your Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Add reflection icon button.
Enter your reflection comments:
Provide your thoughts on the PL event, focusing on:
What knowledge you have gained.
How you have applied, or plan to apply, this knowledge to improve your practice and student learning.
Click Save.
Important Notes:
Reflection comments are saved for your personal records only and are not shared with others.
Reflections are required for some registration reporting purposes.
Any relevant standards for the PL event will be displayed to guide your reflection.
Add evaluation for your Professional Learning (PL) event
Only applicable to NSW schools
Click Add evaluation icon button.
Enter your detailed PL program reflection and evaluation comments.
Click Save.
Add a personal file to a Professional Learning (PL) event
Click Add personal file icon button.
Click Browse to select a file.
Enter a description (optional)
Click Upload file.
Once uploaded, the icon button will change to Download personal file, and a new icon will appear to Remove personal file.

Click Download personal file icon button.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your Downloads folder).
Open the file to view its contents.
Print the file if needed.

Create a record of a personal Professional Learning (PL) event
Click the Add Personal Event button:

Create a report of the non school-based Professional Learning (PL) events you have attended.
Click Personal Events Report button.
Enter the date range for the report.
Select the type of file to output, PDF or spreadsheet.
Locate the downloaded file (usually in your Downloads folder).
Open the file to view its contents.
Print the file if needed.

Each Professional Learning (PL) event is listed in a grid with action columns for managing individual items. Each action column contains icons that allow you to perform specific tasks.

Modify your personal Professional Learning (PL) event record
Click Edit icon button.
Make your changes.
Click Save.
Delete your personal Professional Learning (PL) event record
Click Delete icon button.
Confirm deletion.
Events summary and standards section
Filter and search your Professional Learning (PL) events
Use the filter options in the top toolbar to set your desired criteria.
Date range: Specify a start and end date to filter results within a specific time period.
Click Search to apply the filters and display the results.
Manage your personal Professional Learning (PL) events search results
The grid displays your filtered results, including:
A column showing any standards associated with the Professional Learning (PL) event.
A status indicator providing an overview of all the standards applicable to the selected PL events.
Status indicators for Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
A key is displayed for each standard, showing which APST standards apply to the PL event.
Hover over a standard to view its full description.
Color Indicators:
By default, each standard is highlighted in red.
Standards relevant to the Professional Learning (PL) event are highlighted in green for easy identification.
